Greeting the Sri Lankans on the occasion of their New Year, US Secretary of State John Kerry has said that the United States stands ready to partner with the island nation as it works to make progress on reconciliation and accountability.
"On behalf of President Obama and the American people, I am eager to support the Sri Lankan people in this journey as you work to make progress on reconciliation and accountability four years after the end of the conflict which divided your country," Kerry said yesterday.
Kerry congratulated Sri Lankans around the world as they celebrate Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
"The New Year brings with it an opportunity for all Sri Lankans to join together in the spirit of peace and reconciliation," Kerry said.(PTI)

Don't worry ! We are safe. Bodu Bala Senawa is there. They are the new security to our country. If attacked by U. S. , Bodu Bala has the power and rights to attack U.S. with Chemical weapons, That means with rotten eggs.

Sir, do you know where Sri Lanka is ?. The reason I am asking this is because when JR Jayawardena went to US, Ronald Reagan said " I welcome the Presideent of Seiira Leon".

Shouldn't the US first address the problems at home before trying to put their fingers in other countries. The US is one country that was born of genocide of the Indigenous people, then they had slavery for over 200 years and then segregation for another 100 years. Why do they not address these issues first. How about compensation to the Native Americans for the usurped lands and for the African Americans whose forced FREE labour brought in trillions to the US treasury. Why not address those issues Mr. Kerry.
