The General Secretary of the United National Party (UNP) Tissa Attanayake said today that he would not hesitate to step down from his position of the party if there was a necessity.

Mr. Attanayake, who is also the UNP organiser for Kundasale electorate had submitted a resignation letter to the party leader from the post of organiser last evening.

“I decided to step down from the post of organiser because the party couldn’t win the Kundasale electorate in this Provincial Council election,” he said.
Mr. Attanayake had not yet received a reply from the party leader for his letter. (YP & LSP)

please resign from all positions you all are failed and become a laughing bunch of humen in front of already suffering public and the party supportes

    Mason Friday, 04 October 2013 06:15 AM

Your resignation does not in any manner help the party and the supporters. You have to get to grass-root level and build up the party. Do you remember decades ago when the UNP was in doldrums how Dudley and JR re-built it from ashes. Today's UNP is a disrespect to these stalwarts.

    Deva Friday, 04 October 2013 06:53 AM

Deyo sakki. When is the mangala leaving UNP. All Executive members should resign including the leader.
