Are you sure UNP has a leader whose caliber can match to Obama? Do not insult Obama who is well educated and versatile in his field.

It was Obama who put the breaks ON on the economic slide which was started when the Bush was in power. Now things are changing and the US dollar too strengthening.
What Sri Lanka too need is a young and educated leader to lead Sri Lanka to prosperity. We have had 60 bad years after independence. Time for Sri Lanka citizens to wake and start thinking intelligently before it is too last.

After struggling through Royal colleage,Sajith bearly managed at LSE in London, thanks to Papa being President. It is sad why we Sri Lankans falls head over heals on this dynastics political families and the brats, who never had brians.Remember leader is as good as all the subjects. Are we that unfortunate!!!

Metaphorically speaking, yes the UNP needs a Obama style change. But don't get it wrong, the country has already got a leadership change, a fearless leader who is committed to people.

The country needs "Obama style" change! Bring on Sajith!
Thursday, 13 May 2010 03:34 PM
Ideal person to be an Obama is Sajith.
Thursday, 13 May 2010 05:55 PM
GOOD POLITICIANS NEVER CRITICIZE THEIR LEADER OR PARTY, IN PUBLIC. THESE ARE MERELY POWER HUNGRY & POPULARITY HUNGRY 'PODIYANS.'
Friday, 14 May 2010 03:28 AM
We need a honest leader not ,like a family man
Friday, 14 May 2010 03:32 AM
Unfortunately Sajith lacks the charisma and sounds too aloof unlike his father.
Friday, 14 May 2010 03:35 AM
I think Dayasiri will be a better bet for the UNP on the long run. He is intelligent, witty and connects with the people very well.
Friday, 14 May 2010 07:13 AM
OBAMA STYLE WILL NOT ACCEPT PEOPLE IN SRI LANKA.THEY WOULD LIKE MERVIN SILVA STYLE THAN OBAMA STYLE.
Friday, 14 May 2010 09:27 AM
Smart boy!! Are you living in a different planet?? Open your eyes and see, country is free from terror after 30years so that is called real change not Obama's rubbish....Please come down to earth:))

Thursday, 13 May 2010 06:20 AM
We need a "Obama" not only for UNP also for Sri Lanka. We need a leader who takes correct & progressive decisions to develop the country irrespective of political differences.
Thursday, 13 May 2010 07:17 AM
Changing the whole set up in UNP ,sometime ,may be another disaster.
Thursday, 13 May 2010 07:18 AM
We are not Americans We need Sri Lankan style changes
Thursday, 13 May 2010 07:40 AM
Are you serious? Do you even read what's going on? He passed a huge healthcare reform and a spate of other changes in a much tougher political climate.
Thursday, 13 May 2010 07:42 AM
That's clearly been working for us. A Sri Lankan style is what has been bogging this country down since independence. We've gone from hero to zero in the Asian region. Only our cricket team has some respect...even that lacks true consistency and freedom from political bias.
Thursday, 13 May 2010 07:56 AM
A change is imperative if UNP is to forge ahead and the task of doing this change must be entrusted to a dynamic person like Sajith Premadasa who has the ability to make the dream come true.
Thursday, 13 May 2010 08:28 AM
Well said, This nationalism mentality will put this beautiful country down the hole
Thursday, 13 May 2010 08:34 AM
Sajith should be made leader only by virtue of him being the son of an ex-president? I dont see any other qualification that he possesses.
