Obviously the culprits could not inflence the Police. Hats off to the cops. Lots of ancient artefacts are plundered and sold to tourists etc and it is a big business. Archaelogical dept and the ministry of religious affairs should recruit local volunteers especially in remote barely inhabited places to take up a custodian role and also to monitor these illegal activities and report.
