Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa said that the TNA is attempting to push Tamils in the North to vote for the by spreading racism and separatism.

Addressing a public meeting at Madurankuliya in Puttalam District, the Minister said that it is crystal clear with the TNA manifesto that the former Tiger-proxy party is playing the racist card to win the Northern Provincial Council election.

He said that the pledges made by the TNA in their election manifesto could not be fulfilled through a Provincial Council administration. Hence, the Minister said, the TNA is only playing the racist card to mislead the Northern voters.

Minister Rajapaksa charged that the TNA is planning to paint a different picture to the international community, in case they win the NPC elections. He said that all what the TNA wants is to turn an election victory as a mandate for separatism. While urging people in the North not to be misled by TNA tactics, he requested the voters in the Wayamba and Central Provinces to cast their vote for the UPFA and thus to reject racism and separatism.

If the majority of the majority play a reasonable non racist card the racism of the minority of the minorities would always be at bay

You are correct , Treat everyone same there shouldn't be a word "equal rights " , every human deserves to have equal right , the majority Sinhala population should change their mentality , it is better follow the western political system of country like UK, follow the system strictly, then see , no one will be asking for separate state. The reality is it is not possible in Sri Lanka

If srilanka needs to prosper, then racism should be out of politics. Simply follow Singapore. United we win, divided we loose!

It is no news .It is their forte. No one can take spots out of the Tiger skin and kith and kin. And Tamil generation yet to be born have to carry the AK47 and cyanide pill around their neck in future shedding their books away by 12-13 years of age. How did they do that in this so-called civilized world?

True racism exists in Sri Lanka among very small percentage of majority and minority community. If there is justice and fair treatment to all citizens, then racism will be wiped out of our nation.
