Three Ukranians who were in possession of 14 credit cards and Rs. 900,000 were arrested this afternoon in Katukurunda, Kalutara.

One of the suspects had initially visited the Bank of Ceylon branch in Katukurunda and had stayed within the premises for an extended time which prompted suspicion.

When security officers at the bank attempted to question the suspect he had fled the bank premises  

The security officers chased the suspect and a traffic policemen on duty in the vicinity had apprehended him.

Thereafter two other suspects who were in a car were also arrested.

    Arrest and punish these foreign crooks..The punishment must be severe so as to send a strong message to future would be crooks wanting to come to our country to cheat and rob our people.

    In a previous occasion too, Ukrainians were arrested for Credit Card forgery. So when foreigners go inside, Security personals who are guarding ATM cubicles should be more vigilant.
