It's not Dayasiri it's the UNP leadership that is destroying itself by sidelining young Turks that brought strength and vigor to the party.

Very undemocratic move by Ranil who plays in to the hands of his 'official' foes..! Which side on Ranil anyways?
Sim Monday, 03 September 2012 07:30 PM
If the UNP is a Democratic Party, the Party Leader should be elected on secret ballot. It's high time Ranil goes home rather than destroying the Party.
wickrama Monday, 03 September 2012 07:05 PM
Don't you remember that it was Ranil who gave Dayasiri the post of Deputy Organiser of the opposition. But Daya had other political agendas and betrays the party. Why don't people see the reality - no wonder - it's the same country - the banana republic!
ACA Monday, 03 September 2012 06:22 PM
There is no opposition in Sri Lanka. There is no leader in UNP. Ranil has become the biggest joker in Sri Lanka's politics. Other s in the party also jokers without any strategy or vision. Therefore Ranil can survive as long as he wants.
Dayal Joseph Monday, 03 September 2012 04:28 PM
Its high time the opposition stopped this witch hunt and concentrate on being a responsible opposition
Berty Monday, 03 September 2012 03:37 PM
UNP leadership cutting their own grave. No turning back.
Dayasiri is being forced to join very long Govt band wagon.
citizen junior Monday, 03 September 2012 03:41 PM
too late LOBO, its beyond repairs- Dasyasiri is on a contract -will switch at Wayamba elections--MR has promised CM post
Citizen Perera Monday, 03 September 2012 01:10 PM
We are fed up with this state of affairs in this country. Opposition political parties are scrambled and ruling party politicians are into thuggery and malpractices.

It seems Ranil has already crossed over to the Govt...!!! When the election results are announced we will find all hardcore UNPers have boarded boats to sail to Christmas Island. Safe journey and god/Christ bless UNPers......!!!!
Imran Hussein Monday, 03 September 2012 12:47 PM
Dayasiri is on the verge of losing Kurunegala too.
A popular man with huge potential screwed his future up for petty political gains. Right now he himself doesnt know what he is doing.
Citizen Perera Monday, 03 September 2012 12:42 PM
We are fed up with this opposition politicians from top to bottom who are wrestling amongst themselves without making strong and positive attempt to eradicate political thuggery and malpractices in the ruling party politicians from top to bottom.

It is time for RW to leave with the cronies. He can always join the government. After all he has been supporting the SLFP a long time now. RW have never made any statement denying this.
CLH Monday, 03 September 2012 07:09 AM
Cutting your nose off to spite the face. Also, it's about time Dayasiri gets it off his chest and spell out exactly who's side he's on.

The UNP leadership is only concerned about threats to the leadership, and don't care a damn about bringing the party up.
Al Rasa Monday, 03 September 2012 09:49 AM
UNP is generally in a disbelief that only leadership change will take the party to victory. No entirely wrong as the current failure of UNP is due to wining of the war by MR and post conflict major development drives. UNP has further failed to inculcate an idea of how are they going to bring down cost of living which during their regime started escalating.

This is the time you have to demonstrate the patience and political maturity. You have potential. It is sure..
Habeeb Ur Rahuman Monday, 03 September 2012 09:04 AM
Good move. Ranil learns To Rock..... "Where ever you go, what ever you do, we will be righ here waiting for you...."
Jumbo Sirisena Monday, 03 September 2012 08:07 AM
Poor UNP voters are no better than people sailing to Australia thanks to our self serving UNP leadership. any idea who is going to win the election when internal party issues spills out? why the leadership has no patients to wait until the election is over to take actions against any one misbehaving? who is serving who?
Lankabay Monday, 03 September 2012 07:43 AM
UNP leadership should pay attention to the ground reality. Dayasiri is a popular politician who commands considerable respect and support not only from his Kurunegals district but all over the island. At this crucial juncture, make every effort to unite the party and give proper place to members who can really make a difference.
Nodrog Monday, 03 September 2012 07:40 AM
R fears anyone becoming popular thinking they're a threat to his position. What a pathetic plight the once grand party is in today.
Lobo Monday, 03 September 2012 07:27 AM
The UNP really should get its act together and put a stop to all this bickering and lying within the party.
indimurray Monday, 03 September 2012 07:11 AM
GOOD MOVE . IT APPEARS THAT DAYASIRI IS IN A CONTRACT TO DESTROY UNP.
HE WAS AND STILL BACKING SLFP.
