Three people were killed and two injured in a head-on collision between a car and a private bus last morning at Dalada Gama on the Padeniya-Anuradhapura Road.
Police said the victims were residents of Miriswatte in Gampaha and on a pilgrimage to Anuradhapura. The bus was on its way to Kurunegala.
The driver and an elderly lady were trapped inside the car. The injured were admitted to the Maho Hospital and later transferred to the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital for further treatment. (Sanjeewani Ariyaratne)

hey mail_guy, do u own a private bus? looks like u do by saying the car is at fault! anyways, cops don't check private buses cos most if these private buses r owned by politicians and police high tankers anyway! so it's just another accident! via DM Android App

looks like bus driver is completely in the wrong side. I am wondering cops are checking high speeding buses. Should impose not just a fine to the driver. there should be a system to count number of accidents /road offense on bus route permit. owners should be responsible for hiring responsible drivers. not just want to earn money

Clearly the bus is on the wrong side of the road. As usual overtaking with disregard to the vehicles on the other side of the road. These criminals should be thrown under the bus then and there.

What I fell there should be a special school teaching the bus, treewhellers, bicycle, motorbikes and ect how to drive correctly.
In This incident it is clearly the bus drivers fault.

I guess we all know whose fault this is. in Sri Lanka only private or SLTB buses & trishaws have the right of off way any place any time and just bulldoze themselves and sadly they get away with it even in the presence of the police? via DM Android App
