Three Indian nationals on tourist visas were taken into custody while they were engaged in selling textiles in Kalawanchikudi and Ampara.

The men possessed a large number of sarees and shalwars at the time of the arrest. They also found mobile phones and five travelling bags used by them to sell textiles.

They were taken into custody by a patrol team deployed from the Kalawanchikudi and Malwatta camps of the elite Special Task Force (STF).

The STF arrested them after they received a tip off from the public about the three Indians engaged in doing business. They were handed over to the Kalawanchikudi and Ampara police for further investigations. (Supun Dias)

Why dont we start arresting them at Colombo airport as they fly down from chennai on a daily basis with many many bags of liquor, cigarettes and sarees but holding tourist visas. Its not difficult to find them, just ask the cabin crew on the flight to point out the "traders" they see every week.
