Stationery seized by customs

The Customs Officers of  the Colombo Port today seized stationery worth Rs.20 million that was inside a container illegally imported from Malaysia. The illegally imported container contained more than 450,000 marker pens which the customs impose high taxes to safeguard the local industry.

The container was seized by the Surveillance Unit under the direction of Deputy Director K.A Dharmadasa. The Deputy Director added that a duty fraud of Rs.10 million had also been committed. (SD)

    This seem genuine stuff, importer must be ignorant of certain customs of these authorities. The drug dealers know how to entertain in order to get their cargo released.
