The Meteorology Department said today that it was expecting showers in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and also in the Galle and Matara districts within next 24 hours.

It said showers may also spread to the North Western province.

“Isolated heavy rain falls are also likely at some places and thundershowers will develop at several places elsewhere during the afternoon or evening,” it said.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
