Former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka has prepared a cup of tea using the electric kettle in his cell at the Welikada prison and served it to UNP MP Dayasiri Jayasekera when the latter visited him today.
According to Mr. Jaysekara, the DNA leader starts his day in prison with religious rituals. “He also reads newspapers and magazines brought by his friends and relatives and watches TV programmes during his leisure time,” the UNP MP said. (KB)

Some relief!

The breakaway U N P group and some J V P ers must get together and form a new party under the leader ship of the
General. Dayasiri must play the leading role . Don't get the U N P mutts who support Ranil.

Freedom is a relative thing.
To you, freedom may be having the option to be able to see your children whenever you want to.
To me, it might be having the option to leave my country to visit someone else whenever I want to.
To SF, it might be having the option to put his talents to good use whenever he wants to.

Sri Friday, 22 October 2010 08:43 AM
Aiyo he would have got Anoma to make hundreds of cups of tea to everybody if he did not venture into politics and instead retired gracefully as the commander who won the war.
Pitted against MR at elections he lost badly. That means though people respected him as war hero they did not want him as a politician.
Admit this reality.

That's how he got to politics and he came from the side what he believe right to enter is.. You as government supporters are got irritated with this means you are against the democratic principles. Admit that reality too..

Sajith visit the General in prison. Discuss with him of forming a new party, under Generals leadership and your support as the deputy. Give him the first term to clean all the rubbish and after his first term you can take over the country to alleviate poverty. We don't want any Singapores here, we want only the very basics. I am sure JVP will also support the new party. Prison is a good place for a birth of a new party. You have no future in UNP until all your seniors die, you are like the General a prisoner entangled in the party reforms.

Nature will decide the fate of SF. Because we have no more hope of Judiciary system or justice in this country. Those who sacrifice their life for the country is in jail while those who ruined in power. "Soba dam mathavani ithirya obata barai".

sw Friday, 22 October 2010 09:30 AM
Sajith is one of those who vehemently opposed UNP contesting the general election on a common front with DNF. He felt that his aspirations will not be fulfilled as long as SF was in the fore front. 18th Amendment would have never have been passed if the opposition had continued as a common front.

Stone walls do not a prison make
nor iron bars a cage;
Minds innocent and quiet take
that for an hermitage
_Lovelace - To Althea From Prison
However, I doubt SF has an innocent or quiet mind. Now, think of Nelson Mandela, Nehru etc. People who did have intelligence and wisdomand used all that to make a lot out of their time in prison.
SF can still redeem himself. But I wont really count on that. it takes a certain finesse, and SF lacks that.
