Segu Dawood resigns

SLMC MP Basheer Segu Dawood resigned from his post of Deputy Minister of Co-operatives and Internal Trade Affairs Ministry a short while ago, sources said.

Mr. Dawood denied rumours that he was attempting to divide SLMC.
“I do not desire to campaign against the government. I discussed my resignation with party leader Rauff Hakeem and came to a decision. I will continue to work as Party Chairman,” he said.

Mr. Dawood said he detesst the use of government property to carry out election campaigns and would work towards a free and fair election.
