THOSE WHO BETRAYED THE COUNTRY ARE AT THE HELM. SRI LANKANS USUALLY ARE VERY SLOW TO GRASP THE TRUTH BUT ONE DAY THEY WILL.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 10:02 AM

    Dear Dave

Your Messed up u need Glasses

    Monday, 19 April 2010 10:03 AM

    Dear Dave,

Do you think SF's case is being heard in a kangaroo court to convict him of charges which are not filed. You seem to be day dreaming.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 10:18 AM

90,000 people honestly voted for him. It is a force to count plus many more island wide votes up to 1 million at least. he can do a good job as a MP for the country and should be allowed to speak for his 90,000 people from his parliament seat.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 10:19 AM

DO NOT THINK LIKE A FOOL. A WAR HERO SUBJECTED TO THIS KIND OF ATTROCITIES IS HAPPENING ONLY IN SRI LANKA.
MR AND BROTHERS WANTS TO RANSACK THE COUNTRY OF WEALTH AND DO NOT ALLOW ANY BODY TO COME UP BY ABOLISHING DEMOCRACY AND ACTIVATING DICTATORSHIP. STANLEY

    Monday, 19 April 2010 11:05 AM

Dave it is a pity that you dont appreciate the sacrifices this man has made for the country and for you.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 11:15 AM

This MR regime thinks that all sri lankan citizens are damn fools.Law is changed according to the requirement of Rajapakhas. Is this "Suba Anagathayak?

    Monday, 19 April 2010 11:24 AM

hey did SF celebrated the New Year, because last year he was on his height of his proudness, this year he is in 4X8 cell, like what he did for tamils he is suffering for those sins.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 11:26 AM

    BETRAYED COUNTRY
    BETRAYED THE TEAM
    BETRAYED THE LEADER

    Monday, 19 April 2010 09:41 AM

Pls correct me if I'm wrong. As per my understanding they stopped the court martial awaiting Court of Appeal judgment to be given on 03rd May. So how come Military continues with the court martial before that. Isn't it against the order given by Courts.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 11:47 AM

PLAY THE TIME GAME ,SINCE THERE IS NO CASE.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 11:48 AM

    DAVE .YOU MAKE ME LAUGH.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 12:21 PM

Dave...All the people in this country know whats happening and why SF is being remanded. SF is the real hero....He fought as a hero face to face to release this country from terrorists. Suspicion does not mean that one is guilty.
In srilanka ppl get arrested under suspicion..if it is in US then think abt what would have happened.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 12:27 PM

Let him take his seat at parliament, as it is the wish of the people. As a member of a minority party, how much of a threat could he really be?

    Monday, 19 April 2010 12:40 PM

dave, have you gone mad or something,
What betrayel did he do to the country? is it by winning the war?
What betrayal did he do to the team? is it admitting & telling how much innocent soldiers sacrifice their flesh, blood & youth to this bloody war?
What betrayel did he do to the leader? it it wrong to come to politics in a democratic country?

Please Do Not throw the Stones to Others if You Know You are Not Perfect either. REMEMBER WE ALL ARE HUMANS

    Monday, 19 April 2010 01:37 PM

SK, you are the one who needs to know the facts.
SF was the head of Army, but the war was a coordinaed effort. If not for Air Force, the war is still raging on. Navy destroyed and blocked/captured every single weapons ship sailed our way since 2008. It was a cordinated war and at the top was Gotabhaya and MR. SF was in the army for 40 years but the war was on for 30 of them, what did he do? Only determined MR became the president, he got the team and finished it up. SF was only a part of that team. 40 million to less than 100 thousand in two montsh shows that unlike you, others understand what really happened.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 03:43 PM

If people selected repreesentative to the parliment blocked by any power we can say there is no "Democracy" in this country.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 03:47 PM

so going to spend the last days in the prison. So hereo to zero.An other history.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 05:10 PM

really sad about the fate of this country !

    Monday, 19 April 2010 05:55 PM

It is true that MR gave good leadership. But, please understand that it was the Army which did the biggest damage to the enemy, by their ground strategies, and the General too, gave good leadership.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 06:47 PM

If our President is a gentleman, he should release Sarath Fonseka from detention.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 09:10 AM

True War heroes are only seen & respected by the people. Those who spread venom & revenge due to excessive power hunger no longer will be respected by the people & soon discarded, just like 4 million votes diminishing to a mere 98,000 in just 2 months, itself maybe a world record. how people reject budding politicians with ulterior motives.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 08:12 AM

Will it be on on the 22nd too??

    Monday, 19 April 2010 08:14 AM

How long this will continue unit his death??? may the god bless you our Ware Hero GSF.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 08:21 AM

We know what Mr and Brothers are upto??

    Monday, 19 April 2010 08:27 AM

If Standard procedures were followed the War would still be going on! Witness for example standard procedures in Government departments

    Monday, 19 April 2010 08:32 AM

SHOULD BE SENTENCED FOR AT LEAST FOR 5 YEARS.

    BETRAYED COUNTRY
    BETRAYED THE TEAM
    BETRAYED THE LEADER

    Monday, 19 April 2010 08:34 AM

    for what....................

    Monday, 19 April 2010 08:50 AM

    REALLY.............FOR WHAT?

    Monday, 19 April 2010 08:50 AM

Law takes it's course. Justice should not only be done but must also be seen to be done. Attending parliament is a secondary issue. This can wait.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 09:01 AM

What can you expect from a contry that has jungle rule.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 09:07 AM

As long as the conviction comes before the 1st sitting of parliament, justice will be done. Of course then he can spend all his monies, time & energy at the Appeal's courts & SC to get better justice, by then 6 years will be over.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 09:09 AM

    why so difficult?

    Monday, 19 April 2010 08:01 AM

They will somehow fix him and will not allow him to the parliament.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 09:12 AM

Betraying the people's vote of almost 4 million & only getting under 100,000 in just 2 months.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 09:14 AM

They will find a way to continue this show-piece drama until the day of opening of Parlliament just to prevent him from attending Parliament. or else they will find him guilty before that to make him ineligible to function as a MP. The cruel intentions of the government are crystal clear now.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 09:16 AM

dave, He is in custody not because he betrayed country, team or leader, it is mainly because he contested for Presidential Election.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 09:17 AM

    good you remember these.

    also don't forget
he won the war that no one else could
he sacrificed his family and personal life for the country
you dont have to be with the leader if you think the leader is wrong.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 09:19 AM

What nonsence. he almost gave his life for the country.

    He made the country proud.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 09:20 AM

its no use convicting him and blocking him as if he is convicted, then he can file an appeal the very same day or the next day and when an appeal if filed, the judgment given is with-held, hence he can go to parliament until the appeal case if finished...

wonder if the govt lawyers dont know about this....

    Monday, 19 April 2010 09:24 AM

He saved our mother land from tamil tigers...that was the mistake done by the SF. he must go to jail...

    Monday, 19 April 2010 09:29 AM

These proceedings are mainly to stop SF entering parliament.

    Monday, 19 April 2010 09:33 AM

    And won the war!!!

    Monday, 19 April 2010 09:35 AM

SHOULD BE SENTENCED FOR AT LEAST 5 YEARS

    - for saving the country from LTTE terrorism
    - for trying to save the country from Brother & Company's
    terrosim

HE DESERVES AT LEAST 5 YEARS JAIL SENTENCE FOR THE ABOVE AS MR GOTABAYA RAJAPAKSA SAID AT THE BEGINING - CHITHRA

    Monday, 19 April 2010 09:37 AM

We have celebrated a peaceful new year after 30 years of war. We, Sri Lankans must give thanks to the president and Ex Army Commander for it.
