The European Union has expressed its willingness to engage with the Sri Lankan Government regarding the re-proscription of the LTTE, it was reported yesterday.
This had been conveyed by the officials of European Union Office in Sri Lanka, including the European Union Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mr. David Daly, when a group of UNP MPs met him last evening.
UNP Leadership Council member Lakshman Kiriella, one of the four MPs who met the EU officials, told Daily Mirror that the Sri Lankan Government should engage with the European Court which de-proscribed the LTTE.
Mr. Daly had also told the MPs that the EU would lift the ban on the Sri Lankan fish exports if the government rectified the shortcomings pointed out by the EU.
The other MPs who met the officials were Ravi Karunanayake, Karu Jayasuriya and Mangala Samaraweera (Yohan Perera)

Not so long ago the UN and other top countries were willing to believe the war crime allegations against SL based on mere hearsay, innuendos and false testimonies from unnamed witnesses. What better example of double standards than this??

The Government must do their homework now, without simply shouting.Shouting to the Gallery will not help to solve this problem, do the needful before the EU drop the next bomb.

EU have always helped the LTTE for past 30 years thats why european countries have bus load of tamil illegal immigrants in those countries including EX LTTE members

I think the EU has done a mistake and they have realized the consequence of it and that is why they have to beg for GOSL to correct it.
