Ranil wins election for UNP leadership

Ranil Wickremesinghe has been elected as the Leader of the UNP defeating Karu Jayasuriy. Sajith Premadasa was elected as Deputy Leader, while Daya Gamage has been elected as the UNP National Organiser defeating Dayasiri Jayasekara.

The UNP leader Ranil Wickramasinghe received 72 votes while Karu Jayasuriya received 24 votes. Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa received 52 votes defeating Ravi Karunanayaka who received 44 votes. National Organiser Daya Gamage defeated Dayasiri Jayasekara by receiving 56 votes against 40 votes received by Jayasekara.
