Akurana Pradeshiya Sabha Deputy Chairman A. Indrakumara (UPFA) was arrested today for allegedly attacking a PS member at the monthly General Meeting held on May 7.

The attack on the member S. Wijethunga (UPFA) had erupted over a dispute the two members had regarding a road.

Mr. Wijethunga had been admitted to the Akurana Hospital.

The Deputy Chairman had been taken into custody and would be produced before the court. (Mohomed Asik)

    Condition of the roads in Akurana are terrible most of the times. So my guess is these guys are fighting over who gets the road contracts
