…and if Sri Lanka really wished China not to interfere in Lankas sovereignity, they should tell that to China. As it is today the Sangha in Sri Lanka are not allowed to invite Dalai Lama to Lanka, because China is putting its nose in Lankas internal affairs and the government is adapting to the Chinese wishes. So where is the hailed sovereignity?

Good protest in concept. We should fight for our rights and the Western world has no say in it. But a very dumb speech in return. There are much more intellectual people in Sri Lanka. What on earth was this guy saying??? Very Childish response,
The Government should take action on so called People who act as spokesman.

How can this UN decision afftects the "SOVERIGNITY" of the Country ? The Govt by their action trying to get a License " certified " by the UN to the whole world to Kill as they wish. China and Russia support us as they too have a lot of skeletons in their cupboards. Assumig that UN is prevented by the Govt., projecting it as peoples wish, it will be as good as signing our own death certificates by allowing a dictatorial regime to be established. Under the present Presedential system do you think that it is not possible ? Then whom can you appeal. Poor Countries like ours have always survived by the UN. All those who shout today have been vaccinated free by WHO.

It is too late.
Russia China playing 'Good Cops' while West and UN playing 'Bad Cops'. An Inida remain silent.
We can't do these game again and again.

When you hear a minister in power saying that he/they will hang the general in a public interview, that itself tells lot about the character of the people in power. Not to say that USA or GB hasn't committed violent acts against innocent civilians but they don't say comments like your minister or minsters in a public interview. If they do they would have been found themselves out of job.
So you guys have to keep your big mouth shout.

What we need is diplomacy not protests. All these would worsen the problem not solve the problem. In sinhala there is a good saying for both good and bad it really matters how we use our mouth.

All these problems could have been prevented, if we stick to our word and decisions! Also we should not carry pride and loose talk by overestimating ourselves against the big nation!

This shows how petty minded our political leaders are including Hela Urumaya, President and G.L.Peiris(so called professor). If we have nothing to hide why should we worry about inquiries made by the UN.

Dear Bandu,we are not bound to hide or expose any thing and every thing 0% or 100% on our internal affairs to any body because we are a soveregn, independent nation , not slaves.

Parakrama Monday, 28 June 2010 07:50 AM
Bandu.. We don't have anything to hide! but we are against a UN special panel! Why? Because we are a Sovereign Nation and we have democratically chosen our leaders to solve our internal matters, therefore no one else in the world has the write to intervene our internal matters.

Have police gone there with buses and water jets to deperse the crowd and arrest the protestors, as they did for University students recently. The police in fact have gone to courts to get an order from court to stop these type of demonstrations citing much inconvenience to public. So how do they justify this act. Things to Ponder!!!!

have you ever seen the UN humanitarian development and support that they have given the SL people.
Not a single government has done that much.WHO.UNICEFF,ADB,IMF,UNDP,etc etc.
lets not throw stones while staying inside the Glass Houses.
Shall i suggest lets Close all UN.red cross all NGO and embassies
then run the country from our own grown Selfish leadership.
