President’s Counsel’s sister defrauded



It was transpired in court today that a young couple had allegedly defrauded the elder sister of Sri Lanka’s first woman President’s Counsel of Rs.11.5 million.

President’s Counsel Maureen Seneviratne who became the first woman to be appointed President’s Counsel appeared in court on behalf of her 85-year-old elder sister Sheila Seneviratne, when the case pertaining to the matter came up before Colombo Fort Magistrate.

A further magisterial inquiry into the matter has been postponed for January 25. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)
