The head of the organisation for a just society, the Ven. Maduluwawe Sobitha Thera has called for a bilateral discussion between President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe on changing the constitution

The thera had suggested this when Mr. Wickremesinghe met him last evening. (Pix by pradeep Pathirana)

Unlike other monks Ven. Sobitha Thera as usual has come up with some sort of acceptable suggestions. All respect should be given to Ven. Sobitha Thera.

UNP had opted this the abolition of Presidential system is not because they do not like it but only as the modus operandi to topple the govt. that was said by mr Wijedasa Rajapakse at his opening address. the draft presented is also a mockery as bad as the 78 constitution. are they going to do away with the presidential system completely but no to my understanding. they want to have it in a milder way. it shall not be aspiration of the people if they do so. UNP is trying to mislead the masses again in the same manner they did in 1978.
