Perahera elephant goes on rampage

At least six children were injured when an elephant went on rampage during a Perahera in the Ganemulla junction on the Colombo – Kandy Road last night, police said.

The Perahera originated at the Kandana Temple. The children participating in it who received minor injuries were admitted to the Ragama Teaching hospital.

The Police and mahouts had later managed to bring the elephant under control.
