A suspected LTTE supporter was arrested in London, over his involvement in an incident at the Sri Lankan High Commission on February 4th where a group had attempted to burn the Sri Lankan flag, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rohitha Bogollagama told to Daily Mirror Online.
According to the Foreign Ministry On the 4th of February a group of people from the Sri Lankan Diaspora had caused havoc in front of the consulate by attempting to burn Sri Lankan flags. However the British Police had successfully defused the situation.
According to Foreign Ministry sources this was a joint attempt by supporters of the LTTE and the JVP, in London. The individual arrested in connection to the incident is believed to be a supporter of the LTTE.
The Foreign Minister said that he had instructed the High Commission in London to look into the situation further and bring the perpetrators to book.
The LTTE supporters in UK must be crushed. They were the big liers in UK - during the latter part of the war they were one of the protesters who was on hunger strike was having his big mac and it was all on CCTV and recorded by Police. The hunger striker was going to challenge it but no word upto now. This man must be a supporter for SF and JVP. What a shame to be violating the law. The culprit should be punished and the LTTE supporters in London crushed. They cannot do much with the law here in UK.

LTTE and JVP together with some UNP supporters of SF held a protest campaign in front of High commission against election results. There they tried burning SL flags for which the London police had to mediate to stop.
