UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake who denied that there are internal rifts within the party said today that Hambantota District MP Sajith Premadasa will participate in the Grama Charika Program in Kundasale in Kandy on November 20 and 21. (YP)

Not us. But Sajith charged Ravi as an LTTE guy and Ravi reciprocated saying Sajith is his dad's son, his dad being the one who armed as well as donated money to, the LTTE. Yesterday Sajith said, the party needs a new leader and given the chance, he will revolutionise it.

UNP has to go a long way. Late lalith Athulathmudaly divided the UNP. Still cannot get out of the mess.
ranjan Tuesday, 09 November 2010 12:03 PM
Sorry buddy,
It was Gamini Dissanayake which I mentioned. It was a typo. Come on Gul, even you know that it was Gamini Dissanayake I was refering.

gUL fERNANDO Tuesday, 09 November 2010 10:49 AM
Absoultly not only as UNP supporters but also as PA supporters should give maximum support to Mr RW.
gUL fERNANDO Tuesday, 09 November 2010 10:47 AM
Ranjan
You seems to be a great political reader but i don't know this Gamini wickramasinghe
CW Tuesday, 09 November 2010 10:46 AM
No matter what you do, it will be a flop.
Asoka Karunaratne Tuesday, 09 November 2010 09:55 AM
as long as ranil is the leader the UNP will remain in misery. Sajith is a holder of a B.Sc degree from the prestigious London School of Economics. he is far more educated than both ranil and ravi. he must become the leader of the UNP.
Dead Elephant Tuesday, 09 November 2010 09:46 AM
No internal rift -only external Split
K.PARAMANATHAN Tuesday, 09 November 2010 09:27 AM
In UNP all are trying to be the leader. Ranil doesn't have a say he has become a laughing stock. Sajith should realize that SL doesn't need any more poverty alleviation program as we have almost got into the category of developed nation.

Dear Dillon
You must say: Did anybody say not said. This is a very important part of English Language.
Ranjan Tuesday, 09 November 2010 06:19 AM
A great move by Sajith Premadasa. He has to wait for his chance. If he can remember Ranil Wickramasinghe gave away the leadership to Gamini Wickramasinghe when he came back to UNP in 1994.
Ruwan Ferdinandez Tuesday, 09 November 2010 08:20 AM
Ranil didn't give away the leadership at all. It was Gamini D who managed to convince a bare majority (by one) to win the internal party election to be the presidential candidate. Today Ranil has the majority support in the party, so Sajith has no chance of that..
Gayan Samarasekara Tuesday, 09 November 2010 07:47 AM
Yes, your point is perfect. Our concern is that Sri Lankan voters still think "mouth" as more useful than "brain".. However there must be a way to correct and educate the society, and people like Sajith should take up this challenge.
Dillon Tuesday, 09 November 2010 07:32 AM
Did any body said that there are internal rifts within UNP?
Blff Bluff Tuesday, 09 November 2010 07:07 AM
Make an honest effort to unify the party with the cooperation of all members and ask all of them to stop washing their dirty linen in public.
Blff Bluff Tuesday, 09 November 2010 06:58 AM
Let us wait till Sajith explains his side of the story about Kundasale charika!
Chamila Tuesday, 09 November 2010 06:51 AM
Ya That's true .We all should give our maximem support to Mr Ranil to get the power.Mahinda Rajapaksha too want's to send away Ranil form UNP Leadership. As a UNP Member's we need Ranil.
malkanthi Tuesday, 09 November 2010 06:44 AM
ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER! No need of advertising.

Very goood! Very goooood!!! very gooooooood!!!!
Will Ravi K also participate in Kundasale? Oh, wonder what happened to his national costume that he once wore to Parliament.
manmohanohan Tuesday, 09 November 2010 06:23 AM
please get to gether and lead the country forward...
Only Ranil can do it.. so please support him and he will make a good future leader from some of you before he retires....
Ranil must be the president ... and sri lanka will be like any other developed country !
Chandana Tuesday, 09 November 2010 06:20 AM
