N’Eliya Deputy Mayor remanded

The Deputy Mayor of Nuwara Eliya, Tissa Senaviratne who surrendered to Court was remanded until September 9 on allegation of child abuse.

The Nuwara Eliya Magistrate had earlier issued an open warrant for his arrest.(Shelton Hettiarachchi)

    His father was the Mayor of the UNP led N/Eliya Municipal council in the 80's. He was a respected figure and had some political clout during that time, unlike his son, who has gone in the wrong track.

    Apart from this , this guy was harassing preset Mayor ! who has done very well for the city. I was in N'eliya last week what people told was , every one in city knew his character ! but he was so influenced !!! .... and he has not done anything to the city or community apart from making 100+ children in shade !
