Substandard Atapirikara????
Are you kidding me? Is that your priority amidst all the problems people are facing.
Who is using Atapirikara btw, they are given for the show. Who eats in those bowls. Monks wants high quality shining robes also.

Not only the quality of Atapirikara but quality of life, goods, and services have all dropped to very low levels in this our beloved country.

During the Lord Buddha's time the bhikkus lead a simple and itinerant life "atapirikara" was a useful package for them. In addition to robes the package includes a bowl to go begging food and thread and needle to stich robes. For todays bhikkus these items have become meaningless, and atapirikara has become only a symble. It is mostly recycled through the vender, offerer and the receiver without even contributing to employment.
