Smart Aleck Friday, 19 November 2010 09:58 AM

Yes Prof! I hope your advice is read and taken. Today I found that a 10 kilo bag of Minister Sirisena's brother's brand of White Kekulu Rice had been jacked up from Rs.600/- to Rs. 634/-. I have the bill to prove it.

Smart Aleck Friday, 19 November 2010 10:01 AM

Did you see the massive and repeated advertisements placed in the newspapers by government departments and corporations? Some people will have to be surcharged if there is an audit.

Smart Aleck Friday, 19 November 2010 10:05 AM

Small World! Are you in Myanmar?

Jan Chandra Friday, 19 November 2010 11:06 AM

Ceremonies are held in any country to celebrate the wins. Currently the talk of the world in all types of media is on the royal engagement. Why shouldn’t we celebrate our President's 2nd term as it is not only a victory for our country but for the whole world as he brought in peace by defeating the most ruthless terrorists in the world? I wish him the very best by the grace of the Triple Gem. Long live our President for many more terms to come
    A well wisher

    willows Friday, 19 November 2010 11:28 AM

    Deen Friday, 19 November 2010 02:02 PM

    You must be joking.

Concerned Citizen Friday, 19 November 2010 02:05 PM

Yes, hundreds of CTB buses were taken up for this 'mega' event just to transport supporters to hoodwink the masses.

Smart Aleck Friday, 19 November 2010 09:50 AM

Yes! And the poor jokers, men and women( even forcing exhausted little kids to walk) walking all the way back down Union Place because there wasn't a single bus on the road to take them back.

    Datha Friday, 19 November 2010 03:27 PM

Why doesn't he change the constitution again so he doesn't need to spend money on elections and no president election needs to be held till the existing one is living.

Whatever these hooligans jabber.....we are with u Honourable MR......

    Modawasage_Balaputha Friday, 19 November 2010 08:53 AM

Takes oaths being viewed by 30,000 civilians being forced to attend the event and depriving 3,000,000 people being deprived the opportunity to work resulting in a great productivity loss. The amount spent on the event is more than sufficient to resettle all the displaced and sufficient to fool the whole public for 30 days.

Ultimately the tax payers will meet the extravaganza expenses.

    sujith Friday, 19 November 2010 07:22 AM

organized it and most respectfully To OUR president.

    Best Comment of the DAY...

    Reality Friday, 19 November 2010 09:29 AM

Dearest President, We saw similar vicious comments by readers during the war time. Most comments were against you. But you proved them wrong. It's time to prove it again. If you make great decisions sans pride and arrogance, you will do it again. God Bless Sir!

    pinggonna Friday, 19 November 2010 09:44 AM

Yes Reality , God Bless 20 million people living in Sri Lanka

    Siri Friday, 19 November 2010 09:49 AM

My wish is for a country free of fear, fear of hunger, lack of opportunities and fear of injustice. For that to happen the first and foremost of all efforts must surely be a Presidential election system that is every bit watertight and fool-proof. If it's not, it matters not, what follows: as the government is technically illegal.
