Army Commander Jagath Jayasuriya today said both the President and the Defence Secretary stood by the Army defeating all conspiracies and defending the good image of the Army right throughout, fearing nobody, when there were malicious allegations against the Army.

“In the recent past, international communities were found levelling unfounded allegations against the country and the Army. They were talking of human rights violations, said to have been committed by us during humanitarian operations. Fortunately, both the President and the Defence Secretary firmly stood by us,” he said.
