Over one hundred lawyers appeared on behalf of ousted Chief Justice Dr Shirani Bandaranayake when the case filed by the Bribery Commission was taken up today before the Colombo Magistrate Court.

The Lawyers of CJ Dr.Shirani Bandaranayake complained to Colombo Magistrate court that their client was being charged & prosecuted for an offence for which if convicted would be punishable with a maximum fine of only Rs.1000.

The case was postponed to February 19, 2014.

All the lawyers appeared for CJ looks like those of UNP & JVP headed by the UNP stalwart Upul Jayasuriya. They are ones who are responsible for the plight the CJ is in today.

Though CJ knew her law, she had no wisdom to realize that these people were taking her for a ride, just for petty political gain at her expense.

Lawyers are the great culprits of this country. We know the level of their eduction consider all the politicians in parliament (useless buggers) even kings elder son also a lawyer.
