Mirror shines at awards

Daily Mirror Sports Editor Channaka de Silva set a record by bagging sports journalist of the year for the fifth time  at the Journalism Awards for Excellence 2012 held at the Mount Lavinia hotel this evening

He also won the award for the scoop of the year. Daily Mirror Journalist Lakna Paranamanna won the young journalist of the year while Daily Mirror Cartoonist Awantha Artigala bagged the cartoonist of the year award for the second time.
