Make peace MR tells Gaddafi

President Mahinda Rajapaksa today requested the Libyan leader Colonel Muammer Gaddafi to establish peace in his country as soon as possible.

Bandula Jayasekara Director General President Media Division said that President made the request when the Libyan leader had phoned him today

President Rajapaksa also called on Colonel Gaddafi to safeguard the lives of the people of Libya due to clashes between the protesters and the forces loyal to the Libyan leader.(Diane Silva)

    Isn't it a bit too late for this advise, as 90 % of the country is in the hands of the rebels, except for a small enclave in the capital city of Tripoli which seems to be loyal to Colonel Gaddafi. Its best he leave without killing his own citizens by indiscriminate bombing.
