The investigation report of the Army’s Court of Inquiry, appointed to probe the alleged brawl between an Army Major and a government Minister’s son at a Colombo hotel, has revealed that the Major had provided security to a businessman at the time of the incident using his service weapon unlawfully, military sources said yesterday. It was also revealed that the Major was not on duty at the time of the incident.
@ RH it seems you are the blind person here. Wake up and look around mate see what is happening around you.

Shamali Tuesday, 09 October 2012 12:18 PM
Didn't the major inform court under oath that he had gone to check on a drug dealer and that he had reported so to his immediate senior? Probably the drug dealer is the Ecstasy provider MS. Was that a lie? If this is the kind of judgements that one can get from the Army's court of inquiry, no wonder they threw SF behind bars.
Little Johnny Wednesday, 10 October 2012 04:26 AM
This country's law is a disgrace to the uniform....
Sumithi Tuesday, 09 October 2012 08:38 AM

Sadly some people are blind to the fact that law and order actually prevails well today, comparing to the 80s and 90s. They are also blind to the evident efforts made to safeguard law and order by the Army, Police and Civil defense Force, with Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapakse at helm. This incident stands as proof that the Army is not given the authority to hide their lapses, as it surely would have happened in the past.

Yep better to do Narcotic Investigations as a desk job isnt it? Major and now his replacement officers should contact the DR. and his Son in future investigations. Or ended up banging their own heads in hotel walls.
Hal Tuesday, 09 October 2012 09:30 AM

Major at fault! He was not on duty. And that justfies Malaka can assualt him? what a law??? Can MSD provide security to Malaka? Were MSD officers on duty at the time? what action will be taken against them? It seems more Qs than As!
Vimal Tuesday, 09 October 2012 09:34 AM
When a normal citizen says something about the army that person is a traitor and supporter of terrorists. But when a politian's son beats up someone in the army he is not at fault. So just because the major is at fault the duchebag is free? Did the major beat himself up?
