UNP provincial councillors Shiral Lakthilake and Maithri Gunaratne together with eight others were remanded today. The Nugegoda magistrate ordered that they be remanded till January 2, 2012 as a result of the commotion that took place last evening at the UNP party headquarters last evening.
Both provincial councilors together with those arrested were members of the reformist group and are vehemently opposed to the party leadership. The crowd gathered in front of Sirikotha and stormed the UNP headquarters causing damage to property estimated to be at over 2.5 million rupees. (HF)

If they have done their protest peacefully they would not have to face this. If they behave like mob attackers how can we give them the ruling powers? This is not a revange at all.
