    jaki Wednesday, 20 October 2010 01:14 PM

should be more than 110 kg of golds.before handing it to central bank top people must have consumed it lot as usual.

Concerned Citizen Wednesday, 20 October 2010 01:29 PM

    Absolutely right Malkanthi!
Any right thinking government will ensure it is used only for the development of the North.
Wonder, how much went into the pockets of high ups!

    Nandimithra Wednesday, 20 October 2010 01:30 PM

For obvious reasons if you see how the past has been since Hambantota was nearly "helped" but money returned by court order.

    hehe Wednesday, 20 October 2010 01:36 PM

Do you know how much was there?

    Heman Wednesday, 20 October 2010 02:08 PM

SF confirmed they found 200KG how it got reduced to 110KG where is the Central bank proof that they received Gold not brass or steel. Gold would have gone under the table proof needed to the public and their peoples servants appointedby the public now proove that

    Hamzie-Doha Wednesday, 20 October 2010 11:57 AM

Its defenitly not 110kg, Its more than that according to SF.

Well said Malkanthi. These stories should not be published Internationally. Its shows, how inhuman is our politicians are. Even my dog will not have a bone from these corrupted & disgusting politicians. As they have robbed the entire nation's (Buddhist, Christians,Muslims & Tamils) wealth and enjoying. This will definetly curse them and their generations.

    thusi Wednesday, 20 October 2010 03:24 PM

    Jaz Wednesday, 20 October 2010 08:37 PM

The rest is shared by the top Army cream, and now government wants those Army fellows to say something against SF. Otherwise, they too could get SF treatment.

    victoria Wednesday, 20 October 2010 11:58 PM

Do not ask theese questions. It becauseSF asked such questions he had ended up in Welikade

    JAMES Thursday, 21 October 2010 02:26 AM

Hemal de Silva Thursday, 21 October 2010 02:28 AM

    Nandimithra Thursday, 21 October 2010 05:26 AM

Yes it was 69 million but the interest was not repaid !

    Mifaz Thursday, 21 October 2010 07:03 AM

Must be More than 110 Kg. WHat happen to the others.

    malkanthi Wednesday, 20 October 2010 10:30 AM

We dont realise that items such as these contain tears, heartaches, blood, hatred, death, curse. Utilising them would bring curse upon this land!! Since this belonging to the people in the North, use them for their benefits only as one cannot compensate for lost lives.

    spark Wednesday, 20 October 2010 10:34 AM

This is only the legal quantity. How about the quantity that has been shared amongst the top?

    sandman Wednesday, 20 October 2010 10:38 AM

    Only 110kg WTF !!!!!

unethical guy Wednesday, 20 October 2010 10:39 AM

roshan raz Wednesday, 20 October 2010 10:41 AM

it is not gold. it is blood and flesh of our own sri lankan people. tamils and muslims mostly.

    mohammed Wednesday, 20 October 2010 10:46 AM

It's 420Kgs according to early reports. 3/4 gone missing?

    Is this the 10 % ? or the 90 %?

    Ramzeel Wednesday, 20 October 2010 10:52 AM

How much has evaporated into thin air because its such a long time and most would be imitation gold taking into consideration the way things happen in Sri Lanka.

    pd Wednesday, 20 October 2010 10:54 AM

good move by GOSL. now others wl hv to shut up or cook up another story. utilize this for all those who were affected by the LTTE -army families / northern tamils /border villages etc... this is a very positive move.

    mihlar Wednesday, 20 October 2010 10:25 AM

This includes the gold of poor muslims who had to vacate Jafna over night.

    Nandimithra Wednesday, 20 October 2010 11:03 AM

How are we to know if this was all - no accountability as usual.
Considering the way LTTE operated, this looks insignificant as even from the JVP (considered small-time Vs. LTTE) there was more gold recovered by Ranjan Wijeratne,

Oyage sudu kella Wednesday, 20 October 2010 11:07 AM

While travelling to Jaffna sometime back I witnessed how a Tamil lady (Canadian ppt holder) was compelled to remove her gold bangles and give the LTTE border police. She was questioning them as to why she has to pay to visit her native place. KP's gold is what was robbed from his own tribe. Paavam for those people - Lottery for SL Govt.

    Tin Wednesday, 20 October 2010 11:08 AM

Why our people always have to be this negative on everything?

    Anver Wednesday, 20 October 2010 11:09 AM

Really? It took so long for someone to say something what happened to this gold and hopefully the facts and figures are correct?!

    deepal Wednesday, 20 October 2010 11:12 AM

    110 KG OR 1100 KG.
WHEN IT COMES TO GOLD OR KP'S ASSETS WHY THE GOVT IS HIDDING FROM THE PUBLIC?.
IS IT BECAUSE,IT HAS DO WITH "NATIONAL SECURITY"?
    SUBA ANAGATHYAK.

    Ravana Wednesday, 20 October 2010 11:12 AM

In the "process" some of it must be vaporizing !

Ibnu Batuta Wednesday, 20 October 2010 11:23 AM

Only in kilos...!!! I thought in tons.

    Amawaka Wednesday, 20 October 2010 11:36 AM

so whats your problem after all it is not your gold

    amal Wednesday, 20 October 2010 11:41 AM

kidding.... gold, more than 200kg found wellamulikkal....

    Nayana, Wednesday, 20 October 2010 11:47 AM

This is really sad. These belonged to people who worked hard and had to sacrifice a lot. I only hope it will be put to good use and not end up in the pockets of our corrupt officials. It is unfortunate that there is so much of dishonesty prevailing in our country.
