I suppose its a "peaceful protest" . Hope nobody tries a "FAST one"
upul Thursday, 15 July 2010 05:33 AM
This sort of protest achieves nothing, because it is impersonal. Person to person contact with influential people is what is required. That is what the Tamil Diaspora are doing, to bring people to their own point of view.

By the time these liberal people come back Sri Lanka resplendent isle has become a land full of animals.

These "idiots" are donating their time to express their feelings in Geneva and has a good symbolic value
KAMISS Wednesday, 14 July 2010 01:43 PM
How about another farce unto death?

Opening the mouth for food is better than opening it to bring shame on the country.
Indika Wednesday, 14 July 2010 08:55 AM
If any body wants assylum visa, they won't be in a protest against UN.
Miles Wednesday, 14 July 2010 08:31 AM
I do not think Lalith Wije's question is relevant, because they went not to seek asylum but as they loved Switzerland for economic reasons - to earn more money (which they can not do in Sri Lanka) and come back to Resplendant Lanka for retirement. That is why they are so keen about lanka's welfare. They are true patriots who are loyal to their motherland
Indika Wednesday, 14 July 2010 07:58 AM
Yes, I too, don't understand their mentality. Are we suppose to say "Yes" to everything in their agenda ???
lalith wije Wednesday, 14 July 2010 07:41 AM
what is the Swiss govt doing about this? Are there assylum seekers in this lot,if so should not they be questioned as to how they got asylum and on what grounds. Lalith wije
Kamal Wednesday, 14 July 2010 06:29 AM
What to do, these selfish fellows never understand the threat our country is facing. Very sad.
Ananda S Wednesday, 14 July 2010 05:35 AM
At least there are some patriots !good for Sri Lanka
Saman Wednesday, 14 July 2010 05:21 AM
If he can ... its good for mother lanka... otherwise who else open their mouth. Most open their mouth only to feed their big bellys.
Rahmathullah Wednesday, 14 July 2010 05:13 AM
Comedian Weerawansa has an opportunity to begin his second episode on "fast unto death".
real sri lankan Wednesday, 14 July 2010 04:57 AM
look at these comments. most of them are trying to criticise their attempt to support our country. hello brothers please stop all nonsense and try to show that BAN KI MOON is wrong.
Calistus Jayatilleke Wednesday, 14 July 2010 02:23 AM
These protests are not so effective without the lead comedian Weeerawansa. Why cant the government send him around the world for this purpose?
murali Wednesday, 14 July 2010 04:48 AM
Where is WW here? Without him this protest won't be a successful one.
bigsam Wednesday, 14 July 2010 04:37 AM
Looks like its just the SL embassy staff and their families...
AMICUS Wednesday, 14 July 2010 04:17 AM
BAN KI MOON CANNOT SEE THIS BECAUSE HE IS IN NEW YORK. HOW CAN A PROTEST CONSISTING OF AROUND THIRTY ODD PEOPLE STIR HIM WHENCE A 'MOCK' FAST UNTO DEATH FAILED ?
dave Wednesday, 14 July 2010 04:13 AM
Everybody should get together and should increase the protest all over the world against BAN KI MOON.

Those journalists may get the opportunity to come back here and continue their good work.
Geronimo Wednesday, 14 July 2010 03:16 AM
The Weerawansa virus has spread. Could there be a Wimal
also there to stage a fast-unto-death?
Sujee Peiris Wednesday, 14 July 2010 02:59 AM
Well Done Patriots!
Bluff Bluff Wednesday, 14 July 2010 02:53 AM
Wonderful! Now we can send Wimal for a death-un-to fast there and after 2 days a VIP can fly from here to offer him water to stop it. Part II of the comedy.
Rahul Wednesday, 14 July 2010 02:25 AM
