"Kapilawasthu" was brought to Sri Lanka by the President in a well-timed and well-crafted move to coincide with the provincial elections. This is called selling religion for political gains. Its a pity that the ordinary voter does not understand all these machinations.

Yes Lord buddha said that people can worship the relics in absence of a Buddha for the worshipers.
Kapilawastu relics are same as Dantha dhatu and so many otherrelics in temples. So are you elling peope should stop worshipping these too?
