The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has sought the assistance of the International Police (INTERPOL) to gather information on foreign bank accounts of Danuna Tilakaratne, the son-in-law of General Sarath Fonseka, Police Media Spokesperson P Jayakody told Daily Mirror online.
The CID has already gathered information regarding Tilakaratne accounts in Sri Lanka and according to the Media Spokesperson Jayakody the CID is collecting more information on Tilakaratne’s international financial dealings by collecting data on his foreign bank accounts.
Tilakaratne is being probed on an illegal arms deal which is said to have taken place during the tenure of General Sarath Fonseka as Army Commander.
the results of the bad deeds done by anyone follow him like the wheels of a chariot.

JVP, UNP, TNA and joined opposition successfully ruined SFs life. Perhaps this is all part of their plan.

Probing shoddy deeds of SF Danuna or mine is in order. But we are aware that many who are utterly corrupt survive with no probe! That is bad.

If investigating a criminal is harassment, then MORE THE BETTER!

Interpol is a highly respected organisation and I am glad they have been approached because I have no doubt they are highly capable and impartial and will do exactly what is right with this criminal. If Danuna's foreign assets are not frozen, his capture will be meaningless.

Isn't this tantamount to hatred and "wiree" politics, which MR says he wanna get rid of...... Why no one is want to spread this kind of investigations, let alone international, but at least locally for the other so called dignitaries in the government?? That would be greatly welcome by all walks of people in Sri-Lanka.

A good Govt will release news items such as new job creation, development of infrastructure, building of new schools, measures to increase productivity in different industries and the like. This Govt can only come up with type of dramas and operas to distract the folks from bad governance.

Interpol is now bombarded with Sri Lankan fugitives. They are Sakvithi, Cicile Kotelawela and now Sararth Fonseka's SIL Dhanun. If the passports of the above have been impounded by the relavent authorities at the outset, this wouldn't have happened.

Danuna's businesses and his Ferrari's will all be uncovered soon. Keeping that lot of foreign currency in somebody else's secret wallets without declaring to anybody itself is fishy enough to keep Fonseka in where he is. These guys do one good thing and do eerything else wrong or bad and expect us to tolerate.

Kavan Perera - the son of renowned General Denis Perera destroyed his father's credibility in that ill famous Golden Key fiasco. Now Danuna seems to be doing the same to his gentleman Brigadier father (Tissa Tilakaratne) and his uncorrupt General - father in law. (Sarath Fonseka. Bad sons and sons in laws. They have deceived their elder generation.

Why not Interpol check the bank accounts of the Rajapakse family, cabinet members, their kith and kin and their cronies. The World Bank may want to borrow from them.
