Inquiry on assault in parliament will be conducted: Dep. Speaker

Deputy Speaker, Chandima Weerakkody said that an independent inquiry will be conducted on the assault on UNP MP Palitha Range Bandara who was assaulted by Government MP Arundika Fernando in Parliament yesterday.

UNP MP Palitha Range Bandara today raised a question of privilege in Parliament about the assault on him by Government MP Arundika Fernando on Monday. MP Bandara asked Deputy Speaker Chandima Weerakkodi who was presiding at the time to   probe the incident and take action accordingly. (YP and KB)
