Indian visa applications online

The Indian High Commission has taken steps to launch an online visa processing system from March 25. Applicants are required to apply on www.indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa. The new system is aimed at providing a user friendly visa service through the Indian Visa Application Centre (VFS Global) in Colombo, Kandy and Jaffna and at the Indian Consulate office in Hambantota.

Applicants who use the online facility are required to download the completed application form, affix two photographs (2.5x 2.5 inches on a white background), sign the application and submit it to the Indian Visa Application Centres in Colombo, Kandy, Jaffna and Consulate office in Hambantota along with the passport, supporting documents and requisite fees.

if the applicant has to submit application forms along photos to the high commission again, what is the real use of internet service ? entire process should be fully online when you implement such a system. let's hope SL will implement FULLY online system

On another note, why visas for only Srilankans when you guys can visit SL as you please.

It is just only an application form available on the web to be printed by the applicants. This is not one expects from a so called "On Line" service.

This is for their convenience and not the applicants.
They want the applicant to enter all the data into their system before submitting application, so they don't have to do it.

This is not online visa service.
Their form is available for download in their web site.
USA is offering the online visa application for example.

Come on guys / girls. Even USA / Canada forms have to be filled online. And India is the country with the highest number of people visiting. They have all the rights to impose laws. No matter they get on arrival visas to Srilanka. Just treat them as a friendly neighbour.
