Economies of scale are achieved when you produce the items you can sell at a lower price and import those we can get at lower prices. If we cannot grow potatoes at competitive prices, bring them down and start growing some other crop which we can produce and may be export

The markets do not place name tags on these items and we are at a loss to choose before buying.

When there is a drought there is no one to help the farmers. The are asked to pray to god. I wonder what this increase is for. A bumper onion and potato harvest. They guy is not educated. The price is decided by supply and demand. Let the market decide the price. Lucky these guys left the UNP.

Before the shipment arrives or when the order is placed the tax is reduced. So when the shipment is cleared tax is increased....Cover story is to the benefit of local farmers. This games is going on for a long time......

This is a failed state in every respect with sub-standard petrol, diesel; erroneous exam papers; under-par performance by ministers and above all, without any accountability to anyone. Welcome to the Kingdom of Sri Lanka.
