Dayasiri Jayasekara who was removed as the Deputy National Organiser of the UNP speaking to Daily Mirror online said that he doesn't understand where the party is headed with acts of revenge.
"Those in power after the election have taken revenge and are continuing to do so, this is the result of me working for the benefit of the party and the people of this country and it's clear that this is an act of revenge due to my forthrightness," he said.
Jayasekara went on to state that he wouldn't sell his conscience for any position or post. "I came to this world with no position and I will leave this world with no position, during this short life span I have committed myself to serve the people and I will do that irrespective of position or place," he said. He further stated that irrespective of him holding positions people of his electorate in Kurunegala and the country as a whole have endorsed him and for him that mattered the most. "They would never be able to take me away from the people of Kurunegala and this country, the love that the people have for me is not dependent on any positions and that wont change, I will continue to serve my people to the best of my ability and they will provide a clear reply to this act of revenge," he said. Ranil Please see how Obama handle the issue, he never took revenge from Ms. Clinton instead he appointed her as secretary of state.

Very good, Dayasiri. Prove that you are a loyal, genuine Party man that come what may you will remain. Unfortunately, you associated some useless codgers who faked loved for the Party but worked for its destruction. We saw how they literally destroyed the Party! Be patient and show your genuineness. Who knows, you may replace the one who only shouts - All and no bog type!

    PREM Friday, 06 January 2012 05:09 AM

Be patient. You will get what you deserve

    chithranganie Friday, 06 January 2012 05:06 AM

Dayasiri - I love you simply. I admire how you faced the Singing Star finals when that man who does not even have a voice to recognize got the crown. You were very respectable during the defeat.

Also, your political statements are very very truthful. The ones
(Ranil & Clan) who dances into Govet's tunes only does not like you. Also your popularity among masses.

Please do not get discouraged for the sake of Sri Lanka.
    We are behind you.

    Bindu Friday, 06 January 2012 05:14 AM

be faithful your leader and party first.

    jude Friday, 06 January 2012 05:27 AM

Dayasiri like your newly re-elected leader says "don't rock the boat". Dayasiri, you can't be critical about the party and it's leadership as long as you're a member of UNP. And your comments are all over the media. Dayasiri try to talk less and more action(not talking - talk is cheap). Dayasiri, if you really put your thoughts you could be the leader of the UNP in the long-haul???!!!

    Theshara Friday, 06 January 2012 05:27 AM

High time to think seriously on your singing talents…..May be you have a better chance

    msd Friday, 06 January 2012 05:29 AM

Dayasiri there are no short cuts in this game, you must learn to take your turn. you are being misled by sajit who thinks he is the heir to the throne he uses popular guys like you to achieve his goals which will never happen. actully you are far better than sajit.

    Rambo Saturday, 07 January 2012 06:12 AM

This is valid to all leaders who revenge his competitor.

    Arunachan Saturday, 07 January 2012 06:15 AM

The UNP is headed for total destruction with acts of revenge. All major religious leaders preach against taking revenge even on one’s enemies. Therefore those taking revenge are not fit to lead the UNP. Anybody is free to express his/her own opinion. That is a democratic right. So let no one stifle the mouths of those who speak up against wrongdoers and cohorts of the present government. Dayasiri I admire your guts, forthrightness and strong backbone. I also appreciate fact that you are not willing to sell your conscience for positions or posts. To me you appear frank, straightforward and candid. Both the country and the UNP need people like. You will end up as the leader of the UNP one day so do not be disheartened and please continue with your good work.

What is the purpose of being a popular figure if you cannot be loyal to an elected Leader. Discipline starts there. How do you expect to go up if you cannot be disciplined? I pity you for having gulped the dead rope of Sajith, who is not at all force to reckon with.

liamsi usa Thursday, 05 January 2012 05:22 PM

Strong unpers will never leave dayasiri we are with you and the party soon 'GALA' will will have to go he is the scapegoat of the government

    raj Thursday, 05 January 2012 05:58 PM

anyone who feels their voice is not heard are free to leave the party and start a new party with their own mission and vision rather than accussing others.

    Raju Thursday, 05 January 2012 06:17 PM

Dayasiri and Sajith should have known better before putting their foul mouth. As always these two gentleman even Karu Jayasuriya created the mayhem in the party by not following the constitution and attacking the party leadership from within. These are the consequences they have to face now Ranil has been elected well and squarely. These people were agitating for elections to make the party more democratic and when that was done started crying foul that the process was flawed. However, if they got elected the same cry would not have been there. These three gentleman are utterly selfish and self centered still destroying the party. They should recant their venomous statements and join back the fold in good faith. UNP should not depend on outsiders to run the party nor they should allow any body to parachute themselves for party hierarchy.

    jp Thursday, 05 January 2012 06:31 PM
