Dayasiri Jayasekara who was removed as the Deputy National Organiser of the UNP speaking to Daily Mirror online said that he doesn't understand where the party is headed with acts of revenge.

"Those in power after the election have taken revenge and are continuing to do so, this is the result of me working for the benefit of the party and the people of this country and it's clear that this is an act of revenge due to my forthrightness," he said.

Jayasekara went on to state that he wouldn't sell his conscience for any position or post. "I came to this world with no position and I will leave this world with no position, during this short life span I have committed myself to serve the people and I will do that irrespective of position or place," he said. He further stated that irrespective of him holding positions people of his electorate in Kurunegala and the country as a whole have endorsed him and for him that mattered the most. "They would never be able to take me away from the people of Kurunegala and this country, the love that the people have for me is not dependent on any positions and that wont change, I will continue to serve my people to the best of my ability and they will provide a clear reply to this act of revenge," he said. Dayasiri like your newly re-elected leader says "don't rock the boat". Dayasiri, you can't be critical about the party and it's leadership as long as you're a member of UNP. The UNP is headed for total destruction with acts of revenge. All major religious leaders preach against taking revenge even on one’s enemies. Therefore those taking revenge are not fit to lead the UNP. Anybody is free to express his/her own opinion. That is a democratic right. So let no one stifle the mouths of those who speak up against wrongdoers and cohorts of the present government. Dayasiri I admire your guts, forthrightness and strong backbone. I also appreciate fact that you are not willing to sell your conscience for positions or posts. To me you appear frank, straightforward and candid. Both the country and the UNP need people like. You will end up as the leader of the UNP one day so do not be disheartened and please continue with your good work.

Dayasiri and Sajith should have known better before putting their foul mouth. As always these two gentleman even Karu Jayasuriya created the mayhem in the party by not following the constitution and attacking the party leadership from within. These are the consequences they have to face now Ranil has been elected well and squarely. These people were agitating for elections to make the party more democratic and when that was done started crying foul that the process was flawed. However, if they got elected the same cry would not have been there. These three gentleman are utterly selfish and self centered still destroying the party. They should recant their venomous statements and join back the fold in good faith. UNP should not depend on outsiders to run the party nor they should allow any body to parachute themselves for party hierarchy.
