Question is about the Police attack. We cannot justify the attack because of free education.

To say that one is having head pains, or any pain for that matter, is probably the easiest thing to do. Let the CT scan revel the truth.

study inside the campus instead of being in roads. Government approved your application to peruse studies not protests
Sri Lankan Monday, 02 November 2015 10:57 AM
Next time during protests , stay at home and cook some "del" and serve your loved ones.
Gobba Monday, 02 November 2015 11:23 AM
The Govt better take quick action on this and get to the truth. Then punish the wrong doers. Video evidence is pretty clear. Pls do not make the ppl feel as if they are back in the MR ages. This is now getting ridiculous.

What action was taken against the Police Officer who assaulted this girl. He should be immediately interdicted pending action against him. He has brought disrepute to the entire Police. Most of the Police Officers are good and only few of them are like this. IGP must act immediately on this to save the Police Department.
CITIZEN Monday, 02 November 2015 09:45 AM
Were the Doctors bullied by the Police or the Doctors are conniving with the Police or any other influential persons???
CITIZEN Monday, 02 November 2015 01:22 PM
Although the students commenced the protest as a peaceful one later the response of the Police forced them to be unruly. But, as the Police has to maintain law and order it is, no doubt, their responsibility to control the situation. For this purpose, the minimum force they resort to should have stopped at "the water-jet and tear gas attack" instead of resorting to physical attack. It is this abuse of interpretation of "minimum force" that is regrettable and brings disrepute to the Police!

THIS IS WHAT WHEN YOU GIVE FREE EDUCATION , THEY CREATE ALL SORT OF TROUBLE , THE GOVT OF THE DAY HAS TO FACE THE ISSUE FROM THE SUPPORTERS OF THE LAST GOVT. THIS IS HAPPENING IN SRI LANKA SINCE LONG. IT IS A SABOTAGE , NOT WILLING ANY GOVT TO GO ALONG AND DEVELOP THE COUNTRY.. WHY THE HELL THESE STUDENTS WANT TO PROTEST . THE POLICE DID THE RIGHT THING. NO BLAME ON POLICE. IF THE STUDENTS TAKE THE LAW TO THEIR HANDS , THEN POLICE HAS TO BATON CHARGE

I agree with your comment. I would have been better if you have pointed out how police in australia react in such situation.
Anura Monday, 02 November 2015 03:56 PM
No one has asked Saman to go Australia. When you are in Rome act like a Roman. Do not compare.
SAM Monday, 02 November 2015 04:44 PM
Dear LAL, All this hazard because of free education. If no free education, no students on roads with fool demands.
Lanka Tuesday, 03 November 2015 04:09 AM
If one is "educated", this would not have happened!
Kondaya Tuesday, 03 November 2015 06:40 AM
Dear student you may be correct befor your rally we have seen more but still your problem in the stage. Now managers are those who fought earlier via DM Android App

Probably because the fight was not over and she was needed at the front!!!

Private doctors sometimes for nothing they take CT scans. All this is just drama
Sonali Monday, 02 November 2015 02:58 AM
The policemen who assault people at protest marches are not the ones who should take the sole blame. The higher officials who give them the orders to carry out these brutal assaults are the ones who should be pulled up and held accountable.
mola Monday, 02 November 2015 03:07 AM
Disgusting police brutality. And how they can lie !!! Hope this young woman gets compensated and the brute who behaved like a savage gets his punishment. Well, can only hope.
saman Monday, 02 November 2015 03:20 AM
Young lady, be grateful for what you get for free by the government. Work hard and pass your exams and be good citizen of SL. In Australia where I live, most students would pay up to AUD$6000 per semester to complete a 3 year undergraduate course. For a full course it would cost them up to AUD$6000 X 2 X 3 plus text books and other stuff. Once graduated, students have to pay all back along with their income tax (we pay 60c for every dollar we earn) to the government. Government is not responsible for offering us jobs. We are responsible for finding a job. So be grateful for what you have and work hard. Good luck!
Rom Monday, 02 November 2015 03:44 AM
Over to you Mr.Spokesperson!!, try and cover this up and fall on your face !!!
Dr.Raghavan Pathmanathan Monday, 02 November 2015 03:46 AM
The Police should hang their heads in shame for assaulting unarmed students.Application of brutal force was unwanted particularly on the female students.
pperea Monday, 02 November 2015 05:47 AM
How would a man beat a girl like that repeatedly. Were those police dogs intoxicated or thirsty for blood???? ?They should be sent to jail or hell, they have no place here. Yes, education is free but just to keep it free for thousands of poor kids in this land there were hundreds of students paid with their lives. So the rest can get a education, have a life. If those students have money, they wont waste time rather they enjoy time sipping scotch at nightclubs just like little princes of our great politicians.Where is the justice!!!
YAMAYA Monday, 02 November 2015 05:49 AM

HND can never be given the status of a degree. This can never be done. Students should not work for the interest of politically motivated student unions. These students are getting free education from public money, while lot of students pay for their education. They should be thankful and do their studies well.
Medical attention Monday, 02 November 2015 07:15 AM
The Govt should admit her to a private hospital or even send her abroad for a report and treatment. Preferebly abroad, as a private institution (in Sri Lanka)can be threatened by the Police Farce.

The Sri Lanka medical, police and education systems had dropped to a very low level. It can go no lower. The new government should rectify this problem.
Mr. A/L Monday, 02 November 2015 07:55 AM
It is true that police behavior is not accepted, while the same time you need to realize that only those who passed A/L with proper grads should be awarded degrees.

The behavior of the police show that we are still an uncivilized race.
