A Sri Lankan man who had allegedly trespassed into a room at Cinnamon Grand Hotel where the Australian cricket team, participating in ICC World T20 2012, was staying had been arrested by police and probes are underway to determine whether he came there for a match-fixing deal or to cause harm.

In a complaint to the police, a security supervisor of the hotel had told that the Australian cricketers who are participating in ICC World T20 were staying in two rooms at the eighth floor of the hotel. He alleged that a person who trespassed into one of the hotel rooms had queried the cricketers “Do you wanna have some fun?”

When the suspect was produced before a Colombo Court, he was ordered to be released on a surety of Rs.50, 000. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)

This is funny. A man who wants to provide fun to some foreigners gets fined, while a man who assaults a war hero is proven innocent. tsk, tsk!

If his question was:“Do you wanna have some fun?” Definitely not to play a 7 over match inside the hotel room but a 1 over match.

Politicians are provided good security but not the overseas cricketer. If proper security was in place this man could not have gone that far. Good on you the security providers

How did he enter the room? My experience in hotels is, if somebody knocks on the door, I would simply open the door to talk to the visitor, as these cricketer would have done. But the question is, how did this man get that far as cricketers are given VIP security and no one should be allowed even to get on to the floors of their rooms, except authorised staff including cleaners.

This is not the first time such an incident has taken place when international teams come to play cricket in Sri Lanka. Provide the fun and win the cup.

I am sure the Aussies have enough strength for seven overs...unlike you one shot and out..
