Why are you worried; so that you can yak, yak, yak. Give me a minute; let me look into my crystal ball and tell you if its true.

eloquence at the podium and the ability to convice the gullible masses that he is the most benevolent thing that ever happened to them. After all, patriotism is a virtue of the vicious. if MR wins today, Sri Lanka has seen defeat and so would the freedoms ranging from social to economic would have been pilfered from the despairing masses. Would we be relegated tonight into the sin bin of political strife. The battle hardened veteran who undoubtedly would have won many a purple heart if it were awarded, He certainly cut out to be the liberator of this forsaken land. let us hope and pray that the good Lord will deliver us from the evil that prevails. & give us the metamorphosized commander as our new President. Jayavewa .

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 04:50 AM

MR's win is imminent and it's around 60%

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 04:49 AM

We all love this country. We don,t love any parties because they will do anything for us a good leader will do . We need a good strong person who can rule this country with discipline, democracy. Forget about parties (UNP, SLFP, TNA, JVP, JHU, CWC..etc...). Choose the right leader who can change this country for good.

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 04:49 AM

Hemantha, But in public we don't use those words. That's the difference between SF and MR.

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 04:32 AM

i went to vote at around 8.30 today and by that time itself the ballot boxes were full.... there was a huge q that i had to wait in to go inside....

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 04:24 AM

Historic change is in the process victory for democracy and fairness love your country vote for change and end 15 years of brutal rule,

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 04:21 AM

It is necessary for us as responsible voters to vote for someone who has self respect and would therefore respect the country and its people..... I agree that both Mahinda and Sarath had hands in winning the war and our gratitude is for both for their efforts but now its time to think..................................!! So please look forward, our country SRI LANKA needs to develop and we must choose a corruption free, nation loving person... and we all know its not the current President!!

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 03:47 AM

Those wards are not imported, very much there in the local language to be used when necessary.

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 03:37 AM

i still cant beleive some people are dumb enough to fall for this rhetoric. Voting for someone out of gratitude (for something he didn't even do himself) is not right when there are people who don't even have enough money to have 3 meals a day. The only people who will benefit if Mr comes in are those who are kissing up to him and having so called connections..like a Sri Lankan version of the mafia.

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 03:24 AM

great. With Gods Blessing nothing wil happen. Let there be peaceful election. Jaffna already there using sounds of explotions ... Bad taste... Lets beat this... Go vote...

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 03:22 AM

You would think that but I wouldn't discount vote rigging yet. If this election is stolen i dont think the people will stand for it.

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 03:17 AM

Love thy country and vote for the right man. May the dynasty prevail in a crushing defeat.

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 03:14 AM

both SF supporters and SF speek in same vocabulary to others like ediot, paharaya, kalaweddha ect.

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 03:09 AM

Maybe you are right... how to be defeated when such large scale abuse of state resources, personnel and media is taken to his advantage? What shameless vices to ensure personal victory and defeat to a NATION!

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 03:05 AM

Best of Luck citizens, make use of your golden opportunity to
    select a best one.

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 02:17 AM

Good to know people are voting early. This makes it more difficult to rig.

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 03:04 AM

    Sarath.Jay you are an ediot

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 03:03 AM

Godd luck HE MR. No one can defeat you.

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 03:00 AM

So far so good! I hope and pray this would prevail throughout the day!

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 02:57 AM

How can we still find people backing MR when the whole country is sinking in thugery, crime, unrest, and loss. They must be insane.

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 02:46 AM

Best wishes to Hon.President Mahinda.Rajapakse. You are the winner. Shake the whole world and make Sri lanka in to a Asia"s paradise.

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 02:46 AM

SL needs a Mahathir like in Malaysia to get it out of this endless pit its fallen into. But sadly the donkeys in this race does not have one so yet again we will wait for the next race.

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 02:44 AM

GOOD NEWS. PLEASE DO YOUR DUTY,VOTE FOR THE RIGHT MAN WHO WILL BE OUR NEXT PRESIDENT.

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 02:37 AM

Indeed it is the prayer & wish of every right thinking Sri Lankan that this election will be free and fair. Let the people decide on their leader and not politicians who have done nothing for the country during the past.

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 02:37 AM

heard reports that the President went to New Delhi overnight for a Hindu Poojaa/ to receive blessings at a temple there. Anybody knows if its true?

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 02:35 AM

Dear friends..vote wisely... where we (expat) may return home safe and soon.. god bless my home Sri Lanka... geat to be a Sri Lankan.

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 02:29 AM

I wish all srilankans a prosperous country with a true leadership to live with dignity and pride, and for their dreams to come true

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 02:29 AM

where is the place for free and fair elections ,an inevitable component of democracy, when there is no democracy at all.

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 02:28 AM

At least this time, hope and pray that we have a free and fair election, where by the actual people's mandate is reflected...

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 02:27 AM

It is a sacred duty and sacred privilege of each citizen.

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 02:23 AM

May sanity prevail...vote for progress...not for politicians.
