Heroin worth Rs.9.5 million seized at BIA

A Sri Lankan youth was taken into custody with 1.3 kilogrammes of brown heroin worth Rs.9.5 million. The youth was arrested when the Airport Customs officers conducted a raid at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) last night.  

The suspect had attempted to smuggle the heroin to the country  from Chennai. 
 
The 33 year old suspect is a resident of Maligawatta and had confessed to the customs officers that the heroin was given to him by a person he met in Chennai. 
 
The suspect was handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) and is currently being held under the detention orders for further investigations by the PNB. 
 
The customs officers carried out the raid under the directions of Deputy Director of Customs K.R. Senerviratne (Supun Dias and Deepa Adikari)

    conducted a raid????? or he was nabbed while attempting to bring it along with him? IF the customs are to do the " JOB RIGHT" they can raid so many places and so many businesses and their storing facilities.... They just want to FEEL good and make the masses " THINK" thet they are doing the job right.....
