UNP National Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe today announced that he had decided to appoint Harin Fernando who was the party’s chief ministerial candidate at the recent Uva Provincial Council Election, as the party’s Deputy National Organiser.

Mr. Wickremesinghe made this announcement at the meeting of the G20 group at party’s headquarters, Sirikotha this evening.

The G 20 group which is appointed to handle the campaign for the presidential election had also decided to take firm action against those who miss various meetings of the party.

It was also reported that questions were raised by members as to why some party seniors were left out of the G20 group for which Mr. Wickremesinghe responded saying no one should panic about it as everyone would be given a task to perform.(Yohan Perera)
