Former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka’s wife Anoma said yesterday that a large number of people had shown interest in joining the Anoma Fonseka Foundation soon after her husband’s release over a week ago.
The Anoma Fonseka Foundation chaired by Mrs. Fonseka began on February 2, 2011. Since then the foundation’s membership had risen and is expected to increase further, Mrs. Fonseka said.“I have received several calls from people saying that they want to join the organisation. We will be calling for new members next month and expect that there will be a big turn out,” she said.
She stressed that the foundation was not involved in any political work but social causes to help the underprivileged. While Mr. Fonseka has supported her work he was not a member of the foundation, she said. (Olindi Jayasundare)

now we can see how many had genuingly spoken and sided SF and his wife. when they think very high of themselves fall comes very speedily. they should mind their own business atleast now.
Imran Hussein Saturday, 02 June 2012 03:45 AM
Anoma Fonseka must realise one thing. People supported her past couple of years purely because of her General husband and not because of ther talent or the people around her. This foundation, I reckon is a propaganda work for the newly formed party in which she is a deputy leader, rather than a social work unit.
Noel Fernando Saturday, 02 June 2012 03:51 AM
A very good cause and good luck. Please let us have your web site, the Face book and the email address and the type of social work you plan to implement in your foundation. If donations required there are International foundations and corporations and individuals as well as local charities that will help your worthy cause. Wish you all the best.

Anoma, what is the foundation you support? I suggest you do not have any control over it . you may head it but not have control let there be 3 voluntary appointees. I mean voluntary, NO SALARY what so ever. This advise is in your interest and that of your husband Gen. SF

Hi Ms. Anoma, General Fonseka came into politics as he was told by astrologers that he had the fortune to become the leader of the country and that led him to sling so much of mud to the head of the state and his renowned family. He ended up in the jail because his mouth is not good. I am sure, behind this course also, there should be astrologers. Please stop using mud in future for the sake of power and learn lessons from your husband’s mistakes. Who reaped the benefits out of your husband’s stupid actions were western forces, who don’t like the unity between your husband and Rajapakshas, who gave the leadership to eliminate the terrorism.. Don’t forget that your husband was well respected before coming to politics, but he lost it all. Even I respect him as a war hero, who led the ground forces. Leading role was played by the president and defence secretary. So, please take care of general being at home. Budu Saranai!

Yes, she is a Wife to be admired... All the silent sacrifices during the time her man was heavily fighting a war for the sake of the country... in fact us all sri lankans owe her much.. And then the sacrifice and effort to free her man from political victimization.. Unparalleled!!!
