External affairs Minister G.L Peiris today reiterated his claim that Nepal sought the assistance of Sri Lanka to diffuse it’s ongoing political crisis, which Nepal denied earlier.

The Minister added that he had no need to lie and that the request was made during an official discussion and other high ranking government officials were also present during the meeting.

External affairs minister GL Peiris stated in parliament earlier that Nepal President Ram Baran Yadav had sought his Sri Lankan counterpart Mahinda Rajapaksa's help to diffuse the ongoing political crisis in Nepal. (KB/YP)

You jumped the gun to score points from HE..
You should have got the request in writing through diplomatic means.
Then you got proof even if they deny.

So you are telling us that the Nepali PM is liar?

And do you think MR can really solve the problems in Pakistan, India and other South Asian countries?

    Ray Tuesday, 07 December 2010 02:51 PM

OK; Even if it was true, what have you and the President do to 'Help' them??? If you had offered any help then or later, We can believe you. You only started blowing the trumpet without offering them them 'Help' they requested. Instead, if you had sent to Napal a delegation of Army and security personnel, we can believe you.

It;s not wise to jump into conclsion with casual talk.Diplomatic request should be in Black and White.

    Sena2 Tuesday, 07 December 2010 07:25 PM

It would have been more appropriate if we waited for a formal request for assistance to come from Nepal through diplomatic channels in order to bring the matter to the public domain.
