UNP MP Dunesh Gankanda was granted bail a short while ago by the Colombo Fort magistrates court.

Gankanda was released on a Rs. 30,000 cash bail with two sureties of Rs. 100,000 each. The lawyers appearing for Gankanda argued that under section 216 of the penal code the offence was a bailable one.

Courts will not ever get a chance to grant bail to Duminda or Sudharman. That's how our system works.

Those who were up in arms against Gankanda for previous articles on him, hardly remember atrocities carried out by Sudharman and Duminda.
