The sixth son of Muammar Gaddafi has reportedly been killed in a suicide air mission on his barracks in Tripoli.

Khamis, 27, who runs the feared Khamis Brigade that has been prominent in its role of attacking rebel-held areas, is said to have died on Saturday night, according to media reports.

According to reports on Algerian TV, a Libyan air force pilot crashed his jet into the Bab al-Aziziya compound in Tripoli in a kamikaze attack.

Khamis allegedly died of burns in hospital. The Gaddafi regime has denied the reports. (The Age)

Good question. We people people in Sri Lanka dance and distribute food when a man was killed. Was that good and did anyone try to stop it.

This is food for thought for all dictators and wannabe dictators. Their past misdeeds eventually catch up with them no matter how powerful they may be. Libya is so rich in its oil reserves but how much of that wealth has trickled down to its citizens?

Good guy Tuesday, 22 March 2011 10:45 AM

Guys why u all want to argue each other? these are none of our matters... There are many holes in our government try to fill them or short out them first rather than wasting of time by looking at international level. Even if we fight or argue nothing will happen new in LIbiya. If we do any of those acts in sri Lanka at least something well happen. So just think about it.

doha boy Tuesday, 22 March 2011 10:47 AM

If you don't know what's exactly happening, better not comment on it... gaddafi forces were attacking the civilians. So UN deployed this humanitarian operation. This operation was not initiated by UK or USA.

doha boy Tuesday, 22 March 2011 10:49 AM

It is the same suffering libyans also have undergone with the gaddaphi regieme

    He was a trained killer.

    citizen1 Tuesday, 22 March 2011 03:22 PM

Gadafi has such a big ego (besidesbeing slightly cuckoo) that he can't reason like a normal person.

    Karthik Tuesday, 22 March 2011 05:48 AM

Best punishment for Gaddafi will be to kill all his sons and throw him behind bars for 20 years..... In that 20 years Gaddafi can rethink whatever he did with his executive powers, realize his mistakes and advice all other dictators about the experience

    IND Tuesday, 22 March 2011 05:49 AM

If the US is the dictator of the world, then it's OK, right ?? All western puppets. They don't understand US want everybody come begging behind them. If anybody reject it, they attack. That's THEIR democracy !!

It is the negligence and denial of God by people that causes all these chaos. God speaks through the nature. We ought to listen to it and change our evil ways.

Barn Buddy Tuesday, 22 March 2011 06:05 AM

USA is creating another Iraq in Libya. If Gadafi dies that will be the end of united Libya and USA will take the control of the Oil Industry.

What happen in iraq ? Does the crisis is over ?? Only US headache is over, millions were dead and still dying!!

    Darwin Tuesday, 22 March 2011 08:05 AM

Looks like the strategy is working. Gaddafi's air defense system have been knocked down. As such this jet was able to slam into the Gaddafi compound. Now it is the son, next?

Ane Anichchan Tuesday, 22 March 2011 08:17 AM

Possibly with the assistance of US? When they were targetting Iraq few years back, the US led coalition first they killed the two sons of Sadam Hussain and later eliminated Sadam as well!

    siri Tuesday, 22 March 2011 08:08 AM

    Dee Tuesday, 22 March 2011 08:56 AM

Hope all dictators will open theirs eyes and not their mouth.
a dictator on the run means he will get his next of kin to rule forever. good that this was nipped in the bud.

    rahu Tuesday, 22 March 2011 09:08 AM

can we satisfy when someone die? whether who has a our enemy?

    laksiri Tuesday, 22 March 2011 09:11 AM

this could have happened when we were fighting our own "rebels"... this is an internal conflict, why does US need to get involved..

doha boy Tuesday, 22 March 2011 09:15 AM

Som sons do take their fathers powers to their hands and try making benefits of it... those sons deserve the consequences.
