The Sri Lankan government has decided to reconstruct four hospitals in the northern Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu districts.These hospitals which were damaged during the war period will be reconstructed with a grant assistance given by United States Pacific Command.
On a proposal made by Maithripala Sirisena, Minister of Health cabinet approval was granted for the development of the Divisional Hospital-Oddusudan in the Mullaitivu District, Base Hospital Mulankavil, Divisional Hospitals in Poonagary and Pallai in Kilinochchi districts
Reconstruction of these hospitals will include construction of maternity ward, ETU, OPD, pediatric wards, consultants’ room and other facilities. The Sri Lankan government will make available a sum of Rs.23 million to meet the expenses of levies.
Expeditious action is being taken by the Government to strengthen the Health Services in the Northern Province which were not functioning well during the last three decades due to the conflict situation. (Source: News.lk)

Does some country have to give a grant or aid to do such type of development work in tamil areas? Why isnt the same magnitude of making ports, highways, airports and hotels in the south not happening in the north, specifically as an act of recocilliation towards the tamils from a government that is predominantly sinhalese?

What is happening.....? we spent Rs.70.0bn.....not much only Rs.70.0bn ......for the E01 Highway...........and now US Pacific Command is assisting to renovate the Hospitals in the War ravaged areas in the North and India has agreed to invest heavily in the South Hambantota.
